  • Community Hub

    Published 14/10/24

Our ‘Community Hub’ officially opens today, 14/10/2024.

The ‘Community Hub’ is based where the old Library was, in between ‘Nightingales’ and ‘Skylarks’ classes. The hub has an all-year-round foodbank, uniform rail, clothing rail and a library. You will be able to take anything you may need and do not need to discuss it with a member of staff. This part of the ‘Community Hub’ is for all our families to use throughout the year. The ‘Community Hub’ will be open during the following hours: 8:45-9:00am and 3:15-3:30pm each day.

We would like this part of the ‘Community Hub’ to be self-sustaining. If, at any point during the year, you would like to donate any food, books or clothing to the ‘Community Hub’, please do so by dropping any items at reception.

Throughout the year we will also be hosting a range of coffee mornings and clinics in our ‘Community Hub’. Some of these sessions will include new parents’ welcome coffee morning, baby stay and play sessions, health visitor sessions, new to the area sessions and hopefully many more.

We would welcome feedback from parents as to any events you would like to see in the ‘Community Hub’. If there are any ideas you would like to share, please speak with me or our ‘Community Hub’ lead, Ms. Scothern. Conversely, you can share your ideas with your child’s class teacher.

We are extremely proud of two Nene Valley pupils who were nominated for the 'Annual Peterborough Education Awards', hosted by the Muslim Council of Peterborough.

One child won an award for her charity and community work and the other child won an award for academic achievement. It is the first time students from Nene Valley have attended the event and collected an award, making the night even more special.

    Well done to them both!

We hope to be representing Nene Valley at next year's event.
