FONV

The main reason people join the FONV team is to get involved - because we all share one special thing in common: our children. Friends of Nene Valley (FONV) is a charitable organisation formed by parents of Nene Valley Primary School pupils, working together to make our school the best it can be for our children.
Over the years, FONV has raised significant funds that have been used to enhance the school environment, improve resources, and enrich the educational experience for all pupils. These contributions have supported projects such as outdoor equipment, the all-weather path around the field (which allows year-round access to play areas), as well as special enrichment activities like Easter chicks and providing our leavers with books full of memories!
But FONV is about more than just fundraising. It’s a way to build stronger connections between home and school, bringing together staff, parents, and the wider community in support of a shared goal. It’s also a great way to meet new people and have fun while making a meaningful difference.
FONV is powered by a team of volunteers with diverse backgrounds. Whether you have specific skills or just enjoy lending a hand, there’s a place for you. No one is a professional event organiser or fundraiser, but together we achieve great things! There are many ways to get involved - by joining the committee, shopping via easyfundraising.com helping at events like school discos or the Summer Fete, offering fundraising support from your company or simply sharing ideas. 
Committee meetings are held every three months in the evening, in the school community room (accessed via the After School Club entrance on Campaign Avenue). We understand that not everyone can attend every meeting, and we aim to share the workload so everyone can contribute in a way that suits them.
