Beetles, Masks and Bread

Year 3 and 4 delved into history on Thursday 12th October, seeking all things Egyptian.

The children all came in dressed up in glorious costumes, which were enhanced with masks painted in school.   Can you guess who is hidden?

As well as masks they also got to construct and carve some amazing objects; Canopic Jars and scarab beetles.  Learning new vocabulary as they let their artistic side flow.

A tasty experience. The children weighed, mixed and tasted some bread and cookies that may have been around at the time.  (The recipes, not the actual produce!). Cutting and tasting dates; a first for some.
