Religious Education

At Nene Valley Primary School Religious Education (RE) is structured to be relevant, engaging and challenging whilst creating a moral understanding of issues in our constantly changing world. Our pupils interpret religious issues, evaluating their significance. Our RE curriculum gives students valuable insights into the diverse beliefs and opinions held by people today. It helps with their own personal development and supports an understanding of the spiritual, moral, social & cultural questions that surface across society. Through thoughtful RE lessons we tackle difficult questions and provide pupils with insight into challenging stereotypes, promote cohesion, and tackle extremism. Our RE curriculum encourages our young people to value themselves and the communities within which they live.

Nene valley follows the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) with the aims of to enabling pupils to acquire knowledge and understanding of religion, particularly as expressed in Christianity.  They will also Identify and understand features of the other principal religions represented in Great Britain and our local area and develop the ability to reflect, respond thoughtfully and evaluate what they learn about different religions.
